Hänsel and Gretel

Illustration I painted for an upcoming calendar featuring a fairy tale for each month. Mine was October, so I chose a tale about lost kids, a creepy witch and a delicious house made of sweets. I focused on the sense of something terribly wrong going on during the meeting between the siblings and the witch, using a limited palette and working on the siblings' look and mood.
